Sydney Galindo is a first-generation Filipina American of Visayan and Indigenous descent whose curatorial praxis is grounded in decolonial frameworks and curatorial activism. Centering artist agency and oral histories, she is committed to building ethical, inclusive art ecosystems and amplifying historically marginalized voices.

Holding a BA in Art History from the University of Nevada and an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Oklahoma, Galindo’s methodology prioritizes indigenization and the reclamation of cultural sovereignty through exhibition-making and critical discourse.

As founder of the Artist Resistance Through Solidarity (ARTS) Foundation, she facilitates equitable access to resources via microgrants and advocacy, enabling BIPOC-driven artistic and educational initiatives to thrive.

In her role as artist liaison, Galindo curates and advocates for exhibitions across Turtle Island, ensuring underrepresented artists gain institutional visibility and critical engagement. Her recent curatorial projects, including Son de Mi Ser and Jones Ranch Egypt (Part One), explore themes of cultural reclamation, spiritual resilience, and anti-colonial resistance.

Through incisive curatorial writing, exhibition design, and community-centered projects, Galindo challenges exclusionary paradigms and advances a radical, inclusive vision for contemporary museology and cultural production.

2025, Summer Release & Exhibition

“Unseen Territories” is a documentary and site-responsive exhibition that examines land, identity, and spatial memory through the lens of decolonial aesthetics and community-based practice. Set on Southern Paiute territory in Las Vegas, the project brings together 14 BIPOC artists in acts of cultural reclamation, using flag-making, performance, and ephemeral interventions to reimagine public space. It offers both refusal and proposal—a curatorial gesture toward sovereignty, belonging, and radical visibility.

Living in a Memory

Solo Exhibition with Rick R. Ledesma

2025, East Las Vegas Library, Las Vegas, NV

“Living in a Memory” is a photographic exhibition that celebrates the spirit of Las Vegas through the lives of first-generation immigrants and first- and second-generation Americans. Centered on themes of resilience, identity, and belonging, the portraits and environments offer intimate glimpses into a culturally rich community navigating memory, migration, and place. Set against the backdrop of Las Vegas’ neighborhoods, the series reflects the beauty of cultural fusion and the evolving meaning of home in the American landscape.

Home Means Nevada

Solo Exhibition with Sarah Robles

2025, Sahara West Library, Las Vegas, NV

In “Home Means Nevada”, Sarah Robles captures Las Vegas through the analog intimacy of film. Using in-camera techniques like multiple exposures and filters, she distills the city’s neon landscape into layered, dreamlike compositions that blur the line between reality and the surreal.

Women's Rights Are Human Rights: International Posters on Gender-Based Inequality, Violence, and Discrimination

Curatorial co-organizer with Laura Solsona Plazaola

2025, Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art, Las Vegas, NV

“Women’s Rights Are Human RIghts” originally curated by Elizabeth Resnick, this exhibition features global posters advocating for gender equality, women’s rights, and the protection of women and girls. Drawing inspiration from Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 1995 speech, it addresses issues such as gender inequality, violence, and sexual rights. The posters also explore intersectional topics like climate change, labor solidarity, and Indigenous sovereignty, while highlighting specific violations such as femicides in Ciudad Juárez and the post-Roe abortion struggle.

Son de Mi Ser

Group Exhibition with Amanda Zuniga, Clara Tang, Hue, Lille Allen, Margaux Herron, Montaysia Sims, Quindo Miller

2024, Grant Hall Gallery, Las Vegas, NV

"Son de Mi Ser" explores the reclamation of collective histories through diverse mediums, inspired by Yesenia Moya-Garay's powerful poem "I Am." This exhibition features trans-generational works reflecting identity, cultural preservation, and resilience, offering a profound dialogue on the ongoing process of re-indigenization and the personal journeys of artists navigating and resisting the legacies of colonization.

Jones Ranch Egypt (Part One)

Solo Exhibition with Brent Holmes

2024, Available Space Art Projects, Las Vegas, NV

"Jones Ranch Egypt" investigates the relationship between Western art and African spiritual traditions. Brent Holmes addresses cultural erasure in cowboy imagery and the exploitation of African artifacts, creating a narrative that reclaims these dual histories.
